~Acknowledge your Blessings Flourish And Be Happy~ #INspiredGuide

FLOURISH & GROW

Google happiness and millions of searches pop up. It is one of the most important and misunderstood subject in history. Yet for most people to flourish and be happy is the ultimate goal in life.
Aristotle believed that to fully achieve happiness you must seek to flourish in  desired areas. For instance, to live well you must achieve wisdom and understanding to reach your true potential. Furthermore, to fair well you must experience excellent health and well-being to live a happy life.
A flourishing and happy meaningful life is an important achievement for most Baby Boomers living and working longer. It adds joy to precious memories.
Health and happiness go hand in hand. You can further read “The INspiredGuide Trends 2013” which highlights  health and happiness as one of the growing trend this year.

5 ways you can Flourish and be Happy:
1. GRATITUDE REVISITED: Think back in your life when someone offered to help you but you never got round to thanking them. In a letter, write-up to 300 words on how grateful you are. As a surprise get a close family member to read it to them or do it yourself. Alternatively you can record the ‘thank-you’ on a tape labelled and gift wrap it. They can refer to it again and again. Gratitude increases more good fortune in your life. It makes you happier and is a great story to tell.
2. THREE DOSES OF BLESSINGS: Everyday  list three things that went well in your life and say why. They do not have to be big things. Make this a daily habit. For example, Sasha was happy about been given a book she always wanted to read; Her daughter helped tidy up the house by the time she got home. Belle was also complimented at work for her team spirit that saved the bottom line.

As strange as it seems  it is a great reminder how many good things happen in your life that is really a blessings. The more you are aware the more you will be happier with your lot.
3. THE POWER OF YOUR STRENGTH: Identifying your key strengths can be everything you need to know about yourself to thrive and flourish. http://www.authentichappiness.com. Identifies 24 signature qualities that are YOU. For example Lilly’s strengths is kindness, inspiration, leadership, and love for learning.

Knowing her strength allows her to use them at least once everyday in her life and career. These strengths form the foundation of who you are and how you can gain meaning in your life. Don’t pay attention to weaknesses it takes away your happiness.
4.A MEANINGFUL LIFE: Life without meaning is like a life sentence. Most people go through different stages to get there. Belle in the past was a corporate executive with a life style to match. Suddenly was caught off guard when her best friend who had everything to live for fell ill suddenly and was in a coma. When awoken was left paralysed. This was a life changer for her and everyone around her. Everything in Belle’s life became meaningless. Life is too short and full of surprises.

She woke up to the fact that while money was important she never really loved her career. What she really wanted to do was to become a Social Entrepreneur. She did. Her friend recovered but could no longer fulfil her own dreams. To flourish you must live a life of meaning to be happy.
5.CELEBRATE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT:  You are grateful for what you have , you have counted your blessings, you know your strengths, you live a meaningful life,  so lets celebrate what you have accomplished without gloating.  Carol worked hard to be promoted to retail manager and was feeling very happy about her accomplishments that she set other goals she wanted to achieve.

She now wanted to write a book. Writing makes her happy. She accomplished her dream book and celebrated it. As a diary entry she wrote the date of her accomplishments so that she can look back with pride, gratitude and happiness.
A final note. Think of how you want your life to be and live it. If it’s not right change it so that you can flourish and be happy. When you flourish you keep illness at bay love becomes your light and light your living. ~~When you Create Time for your wellbeing You Prolong your working Career~~ #INspiredGuide

Consider this. You may not be able to  work longer or even live healthier without achieving wellbeing.

Never has wellbeing been so important in the way you live your life. But what really is wellbeing? It is a sense of contentment and happiness you feel inside and outside about your life. In a nutshell wellbeing will help you feel better about yourself. They are simple but somewhat neglected by many.

Researchers argue that in order to achieve the ultimate wellbeing  5-6  hours a day is necessary. Mostly from  phone calls,TV, exercise, learning, friends, family and grandchildren are some of the activities you may hold dear. I love baking bread and inventing new ways to do things which is mentally and physically satisfying to me.

Here are 6 simple ways you can get it:

1.AWARENESS: You live in  world where everything is moving fast around you. But you have to stop and smell the roses. Pay attention to your feelings and emotions and listen to your internal feedback. Observe the simple things in life such as the beauty of nature.Tune in to other people around you. Build strong relationships. You cannot control everything find time to reflect. Most importantly own your moment even the  insignificant and enjoy life. I love to watch the world go by with great interest.

2.LIFE LEARNING: If you stop learning you die inside! Learning is ageless. Life long learning gives you a stronger and better mental health than staying stagnant. Cooking, playing an instrument or if you prefer intellectual learning are areas to explore. This is  appealing  for me as I have to keep going. If not I get stale and grumpy;-)

3. GIVING: When was the last time you did something nice for someone? Volunteer or help a stranger. This is a great wellbeing booster. But be authentic. A smile and a thank-you is a great way of giving. Your happiness can be linked  to your community and can be rewarding including create connections with people around you. Remember it’s not about you it’s about others. But the rewards are priceless for health and well-being. I give thanks everyday and offer words of kindness in writing.

CONNECTIONS: Social relationships is essential to your happiness and wellbeing. When you build connections you enrich your life in ways you never imagine. The rise of social media has made connections vibrant. Forming tribal packs is part of being human. Relationships brings you pleasure and energy. Groups can help you transform and help you grow. For some of you it can be quite draining-its a matter of choice. Adjust to what enriches your wellbeing. I prefer a balance connections.

5. ACTIVITY: Being active is a mood changer. Going for a walk, running and doing any form of physical exercise contributes to your well-being.Sitting in a sofa for a long period of time brings the coach potato out of you. So if the sun is shining get your shoes on and go out for a walk. endorphins is a natural high or just dance to music. I do brisk walking and listen to some dance music. The bonus is I see the beauty around me as I walk I appreciate it more.

6. INSPIRED-GUIDE: You are Inspired and Guided by the fruits of your subconscious mind. Creativity, intuition and relaxation is at the forefront of your wellbeing. When you understand how the subconscious mind work-nothing is impossible. It must be positive.   Meditation, prayers or affirmation are great drivers. Simple breathing is a way to revive your spirit and increase performance. What works for me is meditation I get answers to challenging situations that needs to be unravel. Good for relaxation too!

To achieve 6 ways towards wellbeing varies from person to person. You have to find what works for you and take action. Balance is the key. In many ways they serve as reminders and  are things you already know. So have a go!

There you have it!

Which of these 6 ways to wellbeing do you practice? Is there anything else you could include on this list.

Thank you for stopping by.
